Who Are We
Black Sports Professionals – Pittsburgh Chapter is part of the national Black Sports Professionals network headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. As a registered 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization, all funds raised directly support the operations and programming of the Pittsburgh chapter.
Founded in 2006, Black Sports Professionals has served as both a career accelerator for individuals and a DEI resource for organizations across the sports industry. Today, the organization has grown to more than 20 chapters nationwide, with Pittsburgh representing one of the newest communities.
Our mantra is Connect, Empower, Advance. We connect professionals at all career levels, both regionally and nationally, to foster mentorship, support, and professional development. Through empowerment, our members gain the skills and confidence needed to pursue new opportunities. Together, these efforts help advance individuals professionally and collectively. Through this work, we seek to fulfill our mission of accelerating the recruitment, retention, advancement, and influence of Black professionals in the business of sports.
